2.22 Understand that there are forces of attraction between unlike charges and forces of repulsion between like charges

There are two types of charges:

• positive
• negative

Like charges repel. That means something positive will repel something positive. Similarly, something negative will repel something negative.

Opposite charges attract. This means something positive will attract something negative (they will move towards each other).
